Inclusive Education
Fair is not always equal. Sometimes, students need a little extra help and that is ok! At St. Mary of the Lake, we use a team approach to ensure our students' needs are met. We have a Special Education Specialist on our team that coordinates our services at the school level. We also have an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Language Pathologist that visit weekly to work with our students and two school based Psychologists. Sometimes our students receive help in the classroom, in small groups or even individual support. We use universal strategies, which are things what work for everyone and targeted strategies to help those that need a little extra. Whether it is flexible seating, fidgets, time in the sensory room, targeting reading support or speech services, we will do our best to meet the needs of all of our students.
