Hi! My Name is Brenda Bernard. I have been a resident of Slave Lake for 42 years - give or take! For that reason, Slave Lake is my home. My husband, my son and I keep busy by doing things such as quadding, camping and spending time with our extended family, who mostly reside in Slave Lake and area. I have been an employee at St. Mary of the Lake school for the last nine years. When I began, I started as a classroom TA and have had the advantage of doing some other positions within the school -- from preschool to junior high. I also had the privilege of shadowing the Native Ed. Liaison. Finally, for the past three years, I have been facilitating the instruction (along with the program planner) of the students in the "Beyond the Classroom" program. This program is designed to meet the needs of students that need modifications in their learning and that benefit from mastering life skills. The thing I love most about my position is that every day is different and it brings new experiences to my students and even myself. This goes hand in hand with having an awesome staff and wonderful students in our school! Mrs. Bernard
